Carbon cost to be removed for Horizon Power customers

Horizon Power has removed the cost of carbon from your electricity bill.

The carbon tax repeal is a major change in Federal legislation which took effect from 1 July 2014, triggering a decrease in the State’s electricity tariffs from 1 September.

Horizon Power is currently assessing how much each customer has paid in terms of this carbon cost between 1 July and 31 August and will refund that.

The refund, in the form of a credit, will be paid to customers from 1 November.

The decrease in your bill varies between eight to 11 per cent depending on the tariff you are on.
