Power maintained as Tropical Cyclone Bianca passes Pilbara coast

Horizon Power has organised for extra crews to be available to assist in the towns of Onslow and Exmouth if damage occurs as Tropical Cyclone Bianca heads along the coast.

A red alert has been issued for Onslow which means, for safety reasons, Horizon Power crews cannot attend to any reported faults. Crews are on stand by to attend to any faults as soon as the red alert status is lifted.

The robust power infrastructure in Port Hedland and Karratha withstood strong winds and heavy rain yesterday, with only handful of customers experiencing a power interruption in those towns.

A few customers in Exmouth lost power last night as a result of squally winds but power has been restored to those homes.

Please keep safe and stay away from fallen powerlines.

Report any faults to Horizon Power on 13 23 51. Updates about the situation in those communities will also be available on this number.
