Power restored to all customers in Esperance

Horizon Power crews have now restored power to all customers in Esperance following power outages this morning caused by severe storm activity in the Esperance area.

Esperance customers were without power from 4.31am for approximately twenty minutes and then from 5.47am for just over an hour with all customers restored at 6.59am.

General Manager Non Interconnected Systems Craig Julian said Horizon Power was very grateful for the rapid response from local crews together with the Independent Power Provider at the power station.

“Unfortunately the power station took a direct hit from a lightning strike early this morning which meant it took longer than normal to restore power. We’d like to thank Esperance customers for their patience” Mr Julian said.
