Wild weather causes power outages to Esperance customers

All customers in Esperance rural who were without power today have now had power restored.

Our crews have been out patrolling a 100 kilometre line that feeds the areas of Gibson, Salmon Gums and parts of Scaddan, Condingup and Munglinup. They discovered a section of tree bark across a powerline which had caused the two and a half hour outage.

This power interruption is unrelated to the earlier outage which also affected the town of Esperance this morning. The power station which supplies Esperance tripped. We are waiting on a report from the power station operator about the cause of the generation failure.

If you are still without power please check your circuit breakers before calling our faults line on 13 23 51.
