Householders affected by power outages lasting 12 hours or more may be eligible to receive an $80 payment from Horizon Power in recognition of the inconvenience caused. The payment is available to electricity account holders in Western Australia that consume less than 50 MWh of electricity per year (this equates to electricity bills less than $10,500 per year).

You can check your average daily consumption in “units” by looking at the front of your electricity bill – 50 MWh is approximately 137 units of consumption per day over the year. The under-50 MWh threshold includes most houses and small businesses.

To continue with your application, please read and confirm that you meet each of the following eligibility criteria:

My power was off (an outage) for 12 consecutive hours or longer, or 12 hours or more have elapsed since Horizon Power became aware of the outage

The outage was not caused by or attributable to me or equipment under my control

The outage is not a result of an emergency action taken by an authority such as the police or fire services

I did not request the outage to occur

I have not previously been paid for the same outage at the same address
